didn't know how to title it. my question may be stupid but worth a shot. last season i blew a small hole thru the cylinder wall of my 84' 70 hp johnson. i have found a 77' 85 hp with no lower unit for a good price. is there any chance that my lower will mate with the 85 ? try not to laugh too hard at this one !! thanks

Who knows, you might get a 155hp out them

i would like to give a quick thanks to you guy's. i followed the advice given and it was the selonoid, swapped from my old motor as it was the same part #, gave a little gas and fired right up.... better than my old motor ever did. now to replace impeller, plugs and rebuild the carbs. 100 #'s across all cylinders too
