Just bought an old Johnson model code 6BA79E, serial no. B035327. Can anyone suggest its age, the oil/fuel ratio I should use and whether it's OK to use unleaded?

Hi, Tony.

Your engine is a 1979.

Proper fuel is 87 octane, alcohol free unleaded. That would be 90 octane by your RON octane rating system.

Mix 1 pint (16 oz.) TC-W3 rated outboard oil to 6 US gallons of petrol. A metric equivalent would be 1/2 litre of oil to 25 liters of petrol.

Good luck. :)
