I just got a 17' Tracker Deep V with a 60HP Johnson on it. Very sweet boat runs well drives good except for the torque steer at 5500 RPM. THe boat runs strong but it seems to take alot of effort to drive at high power. You need to steer hard port to go in a straight line.
I have a 3.375 X 17 SS prop and the trim tab is set at about 1.5 (degrees?)
if I look from the rear of the motor the trim tab is set to the port side of the motor. How should I go about taming this beast? I have always been a sportscar kind of guy trying to break into fishing boats so I am a total ignaramus when it comes to boats but I have a full shop and tools and am willing to admit I know nothing.
Educate me PLEASE!!!!!
I can hit 28.5 on my GPS is that about normal for this boat/motor or can I do 30?????
