johnson 60hp 1968 johnson not pumping water

hi guys got an old johnson which isnt pumpin any water iv checked the impeller looked ok. any ideas ???? where if there is would i find the thermstat aswell.

Didn't see a 60 hp in 1968, if it is a 3 cylinder (55 hp) the thermostat is at the top of the cylinder head. If it is a 4 cylinder (65 hp) the thermostat is located between the cylinder heads, in a plastic block with a coolant hose going to each cylinder head.

You can go to the johnson web site and locate your engine and look at a parts breakdown, that might help.

Do you have it on a boat in the water, or some makeshift set-up?
