Johnson 50hp, What year, and what oil mix

I've got a Johnson 50hp model # 50ESL71S. What year is it and what is the correct oil to use and at what ratio.<br /><br />Can ashless oil be used?<br /><br />I was told to mix 1 pint of oil with 6 gallons of gas. Is this correct?<br /><br />Thanks in advance.

Ahoy, Stang.<br /><br />Your engine is a 1971.<br /><br />The mix of one pint to 6 gallons is correct (50:1). <br /><br />Any TC-W3 outboard oil will do just fine.<br /><br />Goos luck.
