I'm trying to replace the lower unit oil seals on a 1990 AJ50TLES.
I've got a copy of the Outboard Shop Manual, which gives details of how to do this for every engine EXCEPT the 50 , which is specifically excluded!

On the inside of the hub is a collar, which I assume is threaded and has to be undone. Correct?

Having removed the bearing cage, can I just put a puller on the bearing housing flange legs and remove the shaft, or do I have to remove the complete gearcase from the motor first?

Any advice welcome. Extracts from a better W/S manual especially welcome!!

Do you have the Johnson manual or an aftermkt (seloc/clymer) , the factory manual is far better.

It's not the factory manual.

Does anyone have a factory manual they can send me extracts from?
