Johnson 50 horse lower unit

This guy is selling a 1989 50 horsepower motor, and states that it needs the lower unit rebuilt. He states that he had run it with the original oil in it and messed it up. Can someone tell me how much money will this cost to fix?

The only way one can pinpoint the repair cost is to tear the unit completely down, then inspect the components, and figure the cost of whatever will require replacing. In short, make an accurate estimate.<br /><br />The usual time involved to tear one down, repair it as needed, then assemble it, test and adjust etc is six hours.
