Just picked up an old johnson and would like some info<br />Johnson seahorse 5 1/2 hp<br />model cd-12<br />ser 1292334<br />would like year,plug gap, point gap, where can i purchase a tank and hose {i am :p in sw iowa}and if i can convert it to the late style 2 prong hose and tank. if so how or even should i? will a conversion be benificial or would it ruin value of the motor if it has any. i plan on using this motor if feaseable if not whats it worth?

Patience is a virtue, Skeezx.<br /><br />Welcome to iboats. :) <br /><br />Your engine is a 1955.<br />Use Champion J6C plugs gapped at .030.<br />Gap points at .020.<br /><br />Get a Repair Manual.<br /><br />That is not a collector engine. It is a great engine. Thousands are in daily use.<br /><br />Your best bet to find a tank and twin hose is eBay.<br /><br />Good luck. :)

The points gap is located on you flywheel, I have the same motor, I had my local marine parts store order me a tank and hose kit from OMC. They still make parts for them from 1944 and up.
