Greetings to all!
Have just joined on good recomendation from another forum that i can probably get the help i need here.
I have a Johnson 40 model 40 BA76R, which was a runner before being correctly laid up several years ago. I do not know what spare part availiablity is like, or if i should convert to CDI ignition, from a 77-84 model?

First off, can i test the coils resistance? The manual i have does not give any info for doing that, just for testing the driver coil. I dont have a flywheel puller, so i thought i would start with the coils first. Is there a dodge for NOT using an official puller and if not, can i still buy one?

Im currently located in Sweden, the engine was bought in the UK, and spare parts are easiest for me to locate there or in Sweden if anyone knows of good suppliers. Shipping from the US is a last resort due to costs.

What parts and what is the process to fit CDI, and is it worth it? I have run cars and motorbikes with points, so i am not tottally averse to the current system.

Cheers, Ian

Just to add a photo. Measured resistance from both coils around 11.75, but i have no reference to a manual so that figure means nothing to me, anyone help? Cheers
