COmpression test show cyl at 150 145 and 145.
Motor has not be ran in three years, but will idle and will start choked.Engine sometimes conks out when put in reverese.Engine also doesnt have full power for several mins.Plugs come out fouled up.Motor smells like its flooded.Checked the plugs, they where not all gaped at .030. Im wonderinf if the coils could be bad.I dont think the carb is bad else it wouldnt idle.

I think what is happening is your floats are sticking in your carbs or a little trash in the needle and seat, same thing happened to my 70hp, just get a can of B-12 carb cleaner and take the carbs off and clean them, should stop your proplem, by the way mine idled like a champ but had the same ailments as yours.

ok what tools will i need,im guessing the repair manual might help me.AlsoI forgot to say the engine ddint idle at first but once we ran it it started idling good. Now the problem is it sucks gas(6 gallons in about 150)and fouls the plugs.(i know i said this all in the original post but i might have forgot something)Now she will idle fins but put her in gear and she floods out,or we have put her in high speed. If i dont put her in high gear she conks out, tten to restart i think i have to manual choke it.Then turn the choke back on auto.By the way i am also using some very old fuel tanks.Plugs are three years old looked good intil i fouled em.
By the way what sort of carb cleaner should i use?told not to use car carb cleaner.

Also just to let you guys know i got this boat on the cheap at 500 dollars,so im not afraid to DIY.

Also it looks like my coils are a bit cracked, could they be bad?

you should not run the motor until you remove, clean and rebuild the carbs....the motor will not last long if you run it lean.
Start with ther carbs , don't buy electrical parts 'till you are sure you need them.
Did you change the lower unit oil and maybe think of putting in a water pump kit and t-stat?

One of the best things I found with all 2 cycles is they like to be used often and run wide open during usage (many years of chain saw usage...also 2 cycles). Take it to your favorite lake and play with it hard....(taking into consideration the down time),it is amazing what will happen when it is used often, what will take you back to a almost peak performance, especially after sitting for years unused!............L
