I'll be taking delivery of a 2006 Johnson 3.5 J3R tomorrow. It has everything I was looking for in an outboard for my new inflatable...except the throttle mechanism. It is on the motor housing and I would prefer it on the tiller. Is it possible to convert it to a twist-grip like the larger motors ?

watch me

That's a British Seagull. Perhaps a lawnmower throttle can be adapted. The main difference between yours and theirs is that theirs only controls the carb, timing stays the same. Yours also changes timing (I assume).
