I'm new to this board and thought you folks might be able to help me with some info.

I recently bought a 1999 Johnson 3 cylinder, two stroke, outboard along with a 1648 War Eagle duck hunting boat. The reason I bought the 25 hp motor is because of a 25 hp restriction on some of the Management Areas in Arkansas where I hunt. A friend tells me that the motor is identical to the Johnson 3 cylinder 35 hp motor except for some minor differences in the carburation. I could definitely use the extra 10 horsepower as the boat is extremely heavy due to the decking, gunboxes and wall covering, etc. Is it possible or feasible to convert the engine to 35 hp? If so, where can I get the parts and information for the conversion? Thanks in advance for the help.
MD

Ahoy, Muddy Ducker. Don't bother. You would spend a lot of money, violate the law, and gain so little you probably wouldn't notice.

Horsepower ratings are a marketing/legislation thing. Real, usable power is a cubic inches thing.

Red sky at night.
JB
