I have acquired a used Johnson 25 Seahorse. The serial number according to the disc on the engine block is B2869/J25BAC1M. I am a novice with this type of motor so need as much information as I can get.
Main questions are -
2 or 4 stroke?
What fuel/fuel mix does it require?
Date of manufacture.
Service information e.g. plug type and gap, tuning tips etc.
It was used on a rescue launch at the local (freshwater) sailing club. It was serviced two years ago and has hardly been used since as there were starting problems.
CAN ANYBODY OUT THERE HELP ME?
Many thanks - Paul

Re: Johnson 25

Thanks Cap'n! Another thing - is it important to balance the prop? Can I do it myself? I am planning to buy a set of flushing rubbers - you may know these things - they apparently clamp onto the shaft and enable you to run the motor out of water...I can't see an obvious water inlet - any ideas?
