Simple one. I want to know fuel/oil mix for my old Johnson 25 hp.<br />/Håkan

hi! i have a 1972 25hp johnson. my jerry can holds 22 litres, so i add 500ml (.5 litres) to it for a 44:1 ratio. i have always beleived that for the older motors a little extra oil is better than not enough.<br />tim

Hi, Tim.<br /><br />I don't agree. I think that more oil than necessary, except when breaking in, only makes extra smoke and extra carbon. <br /><br />I suggest that you reduce your oil to 440ml per 22liters petrol.<br /><br />Good luck. :)

run 50:1 with a good tcw3 oil and you should be in good shape.

Too much oil also overheats engine @ WOT. YOUR LEANING THE ENGINE OUT OF FUEL!!!!
