After troubleshooting my running issues I found the small lead plug on top of carb. above my idle jet has the top broke off and is now loose and sucking in air causing my problem.Anyone ever repair these.Someone said the manual says to drive another lead plug on the hole. Not sure what to really use to do this?Small hole, but I have to get the old piece out somehow?Tried picking it out, but may have to drive it inside after removing needle jet.

piece of a lead sinker would work. They are left over from the manufacturing process, as I understand it.

[edit. believe you will need to remove the domed expansion fitting if you have to get in and under it(?)]

Thanks..I did remove the slow speed/idle screw and had to push the piece in there and had to work alittle to try and get it out.Whats from keeping it from coming out?The piece I took out actually had ears kinda that curved around hole where the needle screw comes in and the needle would miss these ears, that is why I could not pick it straight up out.Not sure how they got those formed on there.Had to be purposely done to prevent it from popping up.I thought about tapping some lead in there then Epoxy or JB Weld on top to hold it better?

That's just in front of the domed aluminum plug, right? I don't know how they did those either, but would think a little epoxy or similar to seal the new lead plug would be a good idea. Sounds wild.

I got a piece of sinker and tapped it in hole and had alittle extra inside so I had to reach in there and minipulate that alittle with a punch to get it out of the way and I then used clear nail polish in a few coats to add alittle extra seal.Motor runs like it did before.thanks
