johnson 1991 90hp matching 1988 90hp

hello would anyone happen to know if a 1991 johnson 90hp match a 1988 johnson 90hp with the same serials (other then year) just wounder if the electrical is the same coils, power pack, ect and if the trim and leg are the same ??? any info would be great thx

If you go to Marineengine.com and look at each, it will have part numbers and you can compare. Thats what I always do.

The engines are pretty identical. They both use the later (single) power pack ignition system. Same carbs, same VRO pump. The actual block is the same part number.
