I was running this monday and when I went to trim it up no response. Later I cut the motor to bottom fish and tried it out. worked taking it down but when i toggled up it made no sound. I have never had any problems until now. Switched relays and no difference. Does anybody know what usually happens? I figure it is an open circuit somewhere around the controls. Had to manually release the actuator to drive it home. what a pain.. Any help would be great...

Your engine has a second/separate trim switch on the side of the lower cowling. When you depress up button on that switch, does the trim go up?

I have never seen a secondary switch back at the motor, do they all have them? I will gladly feel foolish if there is one. What if it does not have one. ??? thanks:cool:

Most of these later models have one. It should be on the lower cowling, starboard side.

I just dont beleive my motor has the secondary trim switch on the motor. I would love a picture if any of you guys have one. Anyways i found my problem. It was the control handle mounted trim switch. removed the switch from the handle and jumped the green and blue wire to the red. And it worked like a charm. I guess it was time for a new switch. thanks everybody for your help...

The parts list shows the cowling-mounted trim switch for the 110. Not sure that the 88 models with trim had the cowling switch.

If you want a switch on your lower cowl and don't have one you can add it with OEM kit #0174797. I got one from sea-way.com in May; it came with good instructions, a template and all necessary wiring.
