Johnson 1984 140hp powerhead swap

Hey anyone know if its possible to swap a 1984 DRESSED 140hp powerhead with my 90hp of the same year??? Will it bolt right up? exhaust on the midsection the same? lower unit? Basically are the same parts used on the 140 and 90 hp minus the powerhead, carbs electronics etc etc (a dressed powerhead)????? Any input would be greaty appreciated!!!

Yes it will all line up Lu,mid sec etc

When you say it is dressed, does the 140 come with factory carbs? You will need to feed that 140 from the large-throated factory carbs. Ignition systems are the same.

Yes they should be factory carbs unless someone else changed them.It also already has a deep throat carb

I did exactly this, this summer. I put a 90hp "temp" power head on my 140 leg/midsection while I'm rebuilding my 140. Same year, even the carbs were the same. All the same power packs/ignition, etc.
