Johnson 1979 140 v4 starter

Hi,
I have melted a piston on my engine :facepalm: but I have been offered a 50hp johnson a bit newer than mine but it has no starter motor. Will my 140hp fit the 50hp?

Also will a 50 get my Fletcher Arrowbeau on the plane?

Oh no, was ment to be going to look at the engine tomorrow night and take my starter with me :-(

is it possible to hand start the engine? Im in the uk so it might cost a bit for postage

You can try it. Just make sure you have a good rope and handle. I've started v-6's with a rope.
