GOOD NEWS. . . . The PICTURE UPLOAD FUNCTION IS WORKING !!! The tech folks at the parent company have been able to remedy the issue. You can upload pictures once again. Thank you for your patience.
Just doing some tests at home in a bucket and there seems to be a lot of oil / sludge discharge. Is this normal? How much oil, pollution should an old motor put out? Do I have a leak somewhere or should I just buy a four stroke!
Thanks
It builds up very quickly idling in the barrel, especially if you've got the idle mix set a little rich, a slight miss, or are starting and stoping a lot. Two strokes are rarely very efficient at idle speeds.
If you're really concerned, there are more biodegradable TC-W3 outboard oils. Shell makes one. And don't forget the environmental costs of manufacturing a brand new outboard.
man if you can afford it, get you a 4 stroke...there are lots of pro's and cons to 2 verses 4 stokes but the bottom line for me is......A 4 stroke will run on low compression, a 2 won't!!!
