OK i have two questions first is my motor was running great and then it started to flood after it was stopped to the point that gas flows out the top and bottom of carb. After floating across the lake all night i finally figured out that it would run in full choke and made it home. I think this may be a result of the gasket that in at the base center of float tank in the bottom might be bad. The one on top of the adjustment pin.
Second question have you ever heard of any one modifying a newer carb to fit this motor because I?m having trouble finding parts.

There are bunches of places to get kits for that. The local dealors in your area may not be stocked up with your parts, but there are lots of other places that are.
