Hey there... Im new to the scene. I am buying a secondhand boat with my Father and at the moment we are keen on the Whittley Sealegend 6.0 from Australia. www.whittley.com.au you can see it there. It comes equipped with a Johnson 175 HP. Nice boat.. Really like it.. Has everything you need.. Altough I am hung up on the fact that people are talking a bit bad about the engine.. That the company has closed down. and that bombarier have bought the engines and things like that.. Can someone let me know really what the engines are like and how parts are going to be accessible in Australia. Is it worth getting that or perhaps a CruiseCraft with a Mercury 175 EFI engine?

Thanks!

Ahoy, SnappyT. The Johnson 175 is a great engine. OMC went bankrupt and their engine lines were purchased by Bombardier, who has stated that they will honor warranty on all 2000 and 2001 models.

Don't let gossip affect your decision.

Red sky at night.
JB
