Johnson 15 no water thru the pee hole

Recently bought used 1980 Johnson 15hp for $300 and today I start the motor with rubber ears with open water running thru.But when engine running no water coming out thru the pee hole.
Except impeler what else could be no good? What should I look at first?

Should have indicator water 'peeing' out. Check the outlet for blockage. Most importantly.. run in a barrel to check waterpump/cooling function. May cool fine w/muffs, and overheat under running conditions (barrel test approximates running conditions for cooling). Barrel water must be covering waterpump, as they are not self priming.

Try taking a thick piece of nylon fishing line and stick it up the pee hole (that just sounds wrong :lol to see if you can feel and or dislodge a possible blockage.

Yeah, just like urologist,I put a piece of wire thru the hole spin a little and I actually put motor in the barell today and after firing up start peeing like she drink 12 pack.
Looks like need clean carburetor and little adjustment, otherwise runs good.
How hard is to clean carb, does it requires and special skil and knowledge

Yeah, just like urologist,I put a piece of wire thru the hole spin a little and I actually put motor in the barell today and after firing up start peeing like she drink 12 pack.

You should get a OEM factory service manual. Ebay is a good resource to find one.
