Anybody knows what the psi should be at wot?

Also where should I tap into if I want to install a water pressure gauge?

Thank you in advance!

Most water pressure gauges come with instructions that indicate where to connect the gauge. Most will simply "Tee" into the tell tale like shown below. If there is an unused port into the water jacket it can be connected there. Water pressure will typically be 5 PSI at idle and 15 - 17 PSI at wide open throttle -- give or take a little depending on engine. Just so you know, water pressure gauges are not a measure of engine temperature. In other words, you can have good water pressure but the engine can still be overheating. The gauge only tells you the water pump is working.

Thanks Silvertip for your post and info!

I know the water pressure gauge didn't tell you much except the impeller is working, the reason I want to install a gauge is I am playing with the motor mounting height on the jack plate and need the know the water pressure before I jack the motor up too high and get overheated.

Any tips on where I can obtain the data on pressure (psi) at wot?

Thanks again!

Cheers
