I want to take my lower unit to welder and have the keel repaird. Previous owner dragged the engine very far and remove a piece. Anyway, I removed all the bolts down there. The thing came apart about 2 inches and is hung up. How do I get the lower unit to detach from the top part?
Of course, while it is that far disassembled, I should probably rebuilt the water pump. Eh?

Did you dis connect the shift rod?
If not, that is your problem. Be sure to set it to nuetral before reassymbly.
The scag can easly be repaired / replaced.
Also, water pumps is a good idea to replace once a year.

Is that an older motor from the late '60s - early 70s, Lee? The only 125 I'm aware of is an electric shift, with no shift connector.

Does Temperance live up to it's name?
