The engine stalls when boat is in motion. Seems fine at idle. Any ideas of what can be wrong. I am wondering if there could be water in the gas tank or is there a gas filter on this engine. Could it be spark plugs?
hmay,<br /><br />Give us a better description of what ius happening.<br /><br />Built in fuel tank?<br /><br />There is only a small screen on the fuel pump inlet.
The outboard is a Johnson 115 hp (1990). When I power the boat I can only give it 1/3 of the throttle. If I want to speed up it starts to stall. I didn't let it stall, I just reduced the power and made it home running very slowly. Any help will be much appreciated.
hmay,<br /><br />If you're using old fuel-4 months or more, get rid of it.<br /><br />Better yet, borrow a seperate six gallon tank, fill it with fresh gas/oil, and try it with that.
