Hello,
I have a johnson outboard from 1984 v4 115 hp, model J115TLCRD.

I bought the boat of second hand and have a problem with the starter. The starter is an American Bosch model 02M8 and in the bottom there is the following reference: 1791728M030SM.

I must change the drive gear (Bendix), because the 10 tooth are wornout and can't move the flyweel.

Does somebody know where I can find online this part of my bosch electrical starter?

Many thanks for your help and congratulations to all for this forum.

Re: Johnson 115 V4 Starter

Rick.... No offense intended but I'm curious about those numbers. My 1984 V/4 parts book states:

The Bosch starter is #389954, superceeded up to #585057, then to latest number of #586283.

The bendix drive gear is listed as being #385949 with a list price of approximately $18.00 to $20.00. I have one left in stock and have counted the gear teeth..... ten (10) teeth.

Edited a few moments later....

I went to that website and saw that the Mfg is ARCE which would account for the difference in numbers. (Got ahead of myself there).
