Hello everybody.
i start working on an engine last year, the engine is dropping park on all cylinder intermittently.
i change the two power pack, stator, timer base and all coils (All CDI ) and the engine is still doing the same.
i finally decided to get it to a boat mechanic in grand junction. for him to let me know that he cannot find why the engine is doing that! but recommended that i replace all the brand new CDI ignition parts.
any help in the rights direction will be appreciated.
Is CDI parts really bad?
could i have another issues that i am overlooking?
ready to give up!

Have a look at your magnets in the flywheel, check nothing looks lose or one isnt as strong as the other
Check your flywheel key is still entact too

dropping all sparks could be a few things but the first place i would look is the motor stop wiring. A bad wire in the section that twists when the outboard is turned could cause the black with yellow stripe to short out. even a key or kill switch could be faulty so locate the black/yellow at the motor and disconnect it then test the problem. (caution: motor will not stop with black-yellow stripe wire removed and if you touch the terminal it may jolt. last time i tested mine looking for a problem i wired a spare kill switch i had from the terminal the black-yellow stripe wire was on then connected the other side of the switch to ground)

As "Glenn" above suggests..... temporarily disconnect the Black/Yellow wire (kill circuit) from the ignition switch. Test run the engine. If this eliminates the problem, replace the ignition switch.

Note that with that wire disconnected, it will be impossible to shut the engine down via the ignition switch due to the kill circuit being disabled.
