Most of the dirty work done . Now you can have fun putting it back together. You could sell the rear corners and get your money back. Did you also steal the trailer to. LOL Good luck

Re: Jetstar

The boat came with windshield(which is broke) three engines, the trailer, 4 new seats, and a new steering wheel.

Re: Jetstar

I am installing a new floor this week. I already purchased all the supplies needed for the floor. My main concern with this boat is getting a new electric starter for the engine, I need a new steering system, new electric system, lights, and getting one of the three engines to work. I believe the Johnson engine is the original as it has an old johnson electric starter in it already.

I am very new to anything with boats so any help would be much appreciated.

Re: Jetstar

If you have a boat - motor shop in the area check if they have a motor to match with a starter. Caution never try to start a motor with a LOW Battery ypu can fry the armature solder in a heart beat. Check out several restore threads as to what works best for flotation and deck mmaterial Take advantage of others mistakes

I'll give ya $40!

Nice haul. Working on my own Jet. Nice to see the ID plate from the transom, mine has a spot where the orig was. It is great fun to restore these wonderful boats. Good luck. You might check out my photobucket to see where I am.

Re: Jetstar

Deputy,

In your profile there is an option to say where you are. Sometimes if we are close to one another we can help more than just with this web site. No need for actual city, some just say North Mississippi or similar. You might consider adding that.

And a photobucket account will get us larger pics. It's free.

Banana Boater the floor on my boat was already out when I purchased it and after looking at your pics I was wondering if you had any tips on how to install the floor.

Re: Jetstar

Okay so in order to clean this post up and let others know what kind of help I need I decided to make a list of the condition of the boat.

Condition:
Needs to be repainted
Needs a whole new floor
Needs a new steering system
Needs new wiring
Needs a new electric start system
Need to replace the windshield
Need to put in new seats
There appears to be a breaker looking type box attached to the transom tray that may need some work

This probably sounds easy to everyone else here but I have stepped into a new world here as the only thing I have ever built is a tree stand.

Condition sounds very similar to mine, needs paint, floor, steering, wiring, windshield, seats on and on. I have everything stripped out and bought new 4 seats real cheap on ebay. I applied Gluvit to the seams & rivets inside and also invested in a newer 2003 motor and controls, and still need some wiring harnesses. I'm planning to try to make a new windshield using a "how-to" thread on here (by Mark42, I think). I spent time today researching paint and painting and decided to go all red with a gray interior. I've also bought a steering wheel and a rack steering setup. I'm still going back and forth about what I'm going to do with the transom, it's a short transom with a long shaft motor.

Too bad I have to work outside. So it's buttoned for winter, all I can do until spring is plan, dream and research.

Good luck, I'm sure I can get some ideas as you go along and if I can help out I will.

What a deal!!!:D Maybe I need to get to more yard sales instead of cooped up in the barn. No way you can lose on this one. All the work sounds familiar but this is a great site for help :D welcome to the cult!

"Banana Boater the floor on my boat was already out when I purchased it and after looking at your pics I was wondering if you had any tips on how to install the floor."

Check out my photobucket page for visuals and explanations of what I did. There are about 30 pics.

I wanted to keep my decking as close as possible to the original so I pop riveted it to the ribs creating a curved surface. While not too difficult it was tedious as you will see. I also covered it with Nautolex vinyl. As an alternative I might have made a flat deck keeping the outside edge touching the ribs and creating spacers at the keel line.

Without a floor pattern to work from the flat system might be easier.

Let me know if you have more detailed questions.
