Jet ski trailer question

Hello all, my brother purchased a jet ski that came with a double jet ski trailer. The jet ski was on the driver's side of the trailer. The wheel on that side is canted, the top of the wheel closer to the trailer. The guy he bought it from said he had that done on purpose because it supported the single jet ski better that way. The axle looks bent, and there are no torch marks on it. Is this just a good sales pitch for a bent axle, or is this done on double trailers when only hauling one jet ski? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Jake.

Re: Jet ski trailer question

jack it up and make sure its not a bad bearing making it sit like that. if not pull the wheel and youll def see if bent or not. can prob heat with a torch and straighten with a pipe. shouldnt of bent from weight of ski but he may of had ski docked somewhere and needed to pick up a pallet of brick or something heavy etc and rigged it to go on trailer.ive seen some dumb stuff....my friend collapsed his snowmobile trailer hauling logs lol

Re: Jet ski trailer question

My brother purchased it already. I just went to see it yesterday. I thought it sounded hokey. If it's broke already, it won't hurt to try to fix it. The axle is visibly bent but the wheel spins smooth, no wobble. I guess we will hit it with the torch and try to straighten it the best we can. Thanks for the help "bently" and "darrenz".
