Hi All,
We are a watersports school looking for a safety craft for offshore conditions. We mainly teach kitesurfing but occassionally do sea kayaking and stand up paddleboarding.
After much deliberation, we have decided to go for a jet ski over a rib, mostly for ease of launching and use in shallow water.
Unfortunately, we have extensive knowledge of Ribs, but none of Jet Ski's, so are looking for a little help if anyone is willing to offer any.
We would be looking to get one which is powerful enough to cope with 3 - 4 foot waves in up to 25 knots of wind and with one of the 'trailer' type rescue things that the RNLI use.
It would only have one driver but the possibility of carry another if rescued.
Should we be looking at a 1 or 2 man and what sort of engine size. It must be very reliable and start when needed.
We must also consider that launching isn't the easiest where we are and keeping it as small as possible would be helpful, but not so small that it compromises safety and the power necessary.
Any help with our hunt for ski would be really appreciated!
Thanks in advance
