Hello - What are the advantages/disadvantages of a jet powered outboard such as Mercurys 40 horse power ??

Advantages: Shallow water running, only the water intake is located below bottom of boat.<br /><br />Disadvantages: Horsepower lose due to ineffiencies of jet drive system ie, 40hp jet will give performance of 30hp prop motor.
