I have a yamaha 115 hp jet drive on my 20 ft seaarc. Runs great, but I do have some problems with weeds while duck hunting. Any suggestions, or fixes to the water intake?

A jet drive is a "suction" device so anything that can get sucked into the intake will! If you make a baffle of some sort that means water can't get into the pump either.

If you run it wide ***** open it won't suck up weeds as bad. Mine always gets clogged up when I try to run it slow.

You just missed my post, so here it is:

You can fabricate a tool to clean the intake while staying in the boat.
Best to learn where the weed patches are, and avoid them, especially if
you can see the tops of the weeds at water level. You should be able to tell if the
intake is getting clogged by a loss of power. Don't want to let the weeds clog so
bad that the water intake is plugged for cooling.

It's still a great drive, and I won't go back to messin' with a prop in shallow water.
