Re: JBs tank
Red in the morning sailor take warning (stormy day, which I want) Red at night sailors delight.

The betonite they use to seal the tank with is in dry form. Used drilling mud is in liquid form and will soak into the unstable ground providing a better seal the used drilling mud is ysually betonite based with baroid added for weight to keep the wells from blowing out. It wil have other chemicals in it to stabilize the PH, usually soda sah and or caustic soda. but in neglible amounts. we have used it for years when available. We are not talking filling the tank with the stuff, just a thin layer all over the bottom to seal. If the tanks dry when applyed it will dry and stay in place while soaking into the soil to provide a seal. We hav even went to a leaking tank with water in it, and drove around the tank with a 3" stream of mud flowinginto the water. The mud being heavier than water will go to bottom and provide a seal. I could go on but thats plenty for now.Originally posted by JB:
"I WONT RED IN THE MORNING"Huh??

They are gonna seal both tanks with bentonite, also used in drilling.
