I am aware that the displacement is the same, Allstar. <br /><br />To get more hp from the same displacement some of the options are different cam timing, different compression ratio, different carb throats, different exhaust scavenging. <br /><br />Then to fully realize the increase offered by whatever of those changes you have used, you usually have to rev the engine higher.<br /><br />The reason I said that you would be disappointed in the increase is that there would be poorer torque at low rpm and no noticable improvement until you were up around 5000-6000 rpm.<br /><br />Horsepower ratings on outboards is a marketing issue, not a true performance issue.<br /><br />BTW, this will confuse a lot of people who haven't read your first thread.
