Thanks for all of the input in my thread last week at:<br /><br /> http://www.iboats.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=17;t=028590 <br /><br />Well I've put about 10 hours on the motor since sealing the leaking area of the crankcase seal on my 1984 OMC 140HP.<br /><br />So far so good!! It idles at 900 in neutral and 700 in gear - no evidence of leaks, no oil spots or sputters.<br /><br />I cleaned the area well with brake cleaner, sandpaper - getting everything down to clean aluminum. a small stripe of JB weld on the leaking area was all that it took.<br /><br />I plan on fixing it right during the dawg-days in august. But, unless I start coughing at idle, I'm assuming I'm good 'til then.
