Anyone going to watch the air show by boat in Jacksonville this weekend?
I have never been by boat but thought it would be really fun to do.

If TD was still around he would have a group there, but he is not here anymore..

Unfortunately, we no longer have a Fort Lauderdale Air Show (I guess our city government doesn't feel it is a priority). When we had one, the planes did all of their manuevers over a box (no boats) over the water. We could anchor up to the box, so the jets tight turns happened right over top of us. Absolutely fantastic.

You're going to enjoy it. I am jealous...

The air shows are great. Daytona hosts them every other year, but they are put on by Embry Riddle Aeronautical University with logistical support by the City. It's a great day to sit in the water, grilling food and having a nice cocktail while the jets perform. If you can go, get to it. Call some buddies with boats and make a day of it. If it wouldn't be a $1000 round trip by boat, I would definitely be there. The DB one is next year...I'll be there...

Any idea how close I need to be (or how far away I can stay away) to have a decent view? I know they have an area blocked that is real close to the run ways as you can see the run ways from the River.

Weather may be iffy tomorrow, still debating about that. 15-20 mph winds and chilly...Chilly I can deal with but the wind may not be ideal for my 19ft bowrider
