Hi all,

Does anyone have a few recommendations on what jack plated I can use to raise my outboard a little more. the motor I have is a long shaft, but my boat needs a short shaft. As seen in the picture, I have already raised it by 2 more inches. The boat wants a little bit more though. Shared experience and recommendations are much appreciated.

Thank you much,

Jeff Salinas

I would recommend this 2 piece adjustable manual jack plate. You can get your rough height and then dial it in for performace once on the water by moving up or down in fine adjustments.

Never seen an inflatable with an open transom. I have the same issue with my Commando C4. It is rated for a short shaft, but I have a 20" on. I have made do with it, but get performance issues at top speed (bucking).

If you know exactly where you want your outboard height to, you can also use this extention plate.

PM me if interested in either

Re: jack plate recommendation

The above mentioned jackplate(first picture) comes in 2 different setback lengths; 4" and 5 1/2". If another cat owner can please chime in please do so. I would like to ask how much of a set back would be optimal for the inflatable race cats.

Thanks,
Jeff
