Hey guys, I have a 1990 stratos with a 1990 evinrude 150 this boat has a 6in jack plate. I ask sometime back about adjusting it so I did, to my understanding I was told to take it as high as possible without losing below 15pd water pressure. I adjusted it all the way up as high as the jack plate would go I just lost about 5pd water pressure I still have 25pd water pressure but it seems when you get the boat up on plain it's like the prop isn't in the water enough seems as if it runs high rpm but I gained 2 mph should I drop the motor back down and not worry about the 2 mph gain. Does the adjustment of the jack plate effect the boat getting on plain quicker or not. The prm gauge is not working on this engine so I can't go by it, just trying to get the best performance out of it. Oh and also with the engine up as high as it will go seems if it does strange things in a hard left or right turn feels like the engine quits pushing until you get the boat back running straight. Also when I adjust the jack plate should I adjust it in small steps like a half inch at a time or one inch or what. All help will be appreciated thanks
