Is there any truth to the rumor, I was just told, that two different size water pumps were used in this engine? Possibly I was installed with the wrong size at cost of 151 USD to the effect of 215 deg idling temperature. I would hope to get the right stuff from an authorized repair facility. I just recently got my favorite restaurant to keep the snails off the food. I don't believe I have damaged the motor yet because I caught it in time and have not been using it, though it took ten days to get an infrared thermometer. A lot of good reasons to fix things your self.

They all use the same water pump. Just be sure you have the restriction nipple in place on the pee-hose. Without, the engine will run hot on low idle. Check with the parts list at shop.evinrude.com

Thank you for some straight info. I believe my shop has been telling me less than honest stories, some included in earlier posts. Time for me to move on.
