I live among the largest collection of ignorant drivers in the world, Pike township, Indianapolis. These $^%^&% should not have been given a driver license. I think a bunch of them are driving without one anyway. I would have been involved in 3 wrecks in the past 2 weeks had I not been cautious of these morons.

And most of those own boats....I see them at the local boat ramp.

Re: It's Official...

You aren't alone. I moved here for the warmer year round weather in order to ride my motorcycle (nearly) year round. Well, 1 year into it I stopped riding it altogether. I've been nearly rammed, sideswiped, pushed off the road and downright ignored too many times to risk riding here anymore. My bike has been sitting for over a year and will continue to until I move. I've had my life in real danger more in one month driving here than I did my entire riding life in New England.

After all, our right to life shouldn't interfere with other drivers' right to be an idiot on the road.

I could make this statement as well based solely on my commute this morning. Ugh.

As I read the first sentence, I thought to myself it has to be Indianapolis.

And it was.

I have family just south of the city and I absolutely hate driving there.

So, you get my vote for having the worst drivers as well.:D

I hear ya gonefishie...there are some geniuses out there on the roads...no matter where you're driving.

I have a particular distaste for sorority girls swerving on the interstate doing 70+ mph while text messaging in daddy's Grand Cherokee:mad:

Sad thing is with all the airbags and whatnot natural selection cannot run its due course.

So you have seen the craziness. I was about 20ft from getting t-bone on my driver side this morning. Luckily, he was just starting to accelerate from a stop and break in time. He almost got hit by oncoming traffic because he had to slammed on the break in the middle of the road and then he almost back into the car that was behind him.

The even worse news is that a lot of them are on the way to Florida for the winter.:(

I have to rate Florida the worst I've ever seen. Lots of blue hairs and teenage party goers all trying to share the road..............not a good mix.

Sweet justice...how often do you see this?

My wife and I were recently traveling in heavy afternoon traffic on the interstate in NY when an SUV flies by us, pulls in then slows down. We back off and are behind it for a couple miles while it speeds up & slows down weaving within its lane and all over three lanes, it's lucky nobody got killed. Eventually it speeds up and we lose it from keeping our distance. Just as we are talking about calling 911 on her cell phone (she wasn't sure if she had it with her in that cavern she calls a purse) a sheriff's patrol car flies by us into the distance. A couple miles later we come across it pulled over, boxed in by the sheriff and a state trooper.

That was a scary few miles. Very drunk no doubt but taken off the road. Nope, you don't see that too often.

Worst one I saw. Apparently traffic was stopped at a railroad crossing with arms waiting for a fast moving train to get by. One of the impatient ones decided that if he ran down the left lane past the traffic, and went around the arm just as the train cleared the crossing, he could get ahead of it all.

When I saw it, his car was painted on the front of a locomotive about a mile from the crossing. Another train was going the other way on the second track. I would guess that unit train was doing at least 60 mph.

I think Darwin won on that one.

Winters almost here, and its the time when snow, slush and ice arrive.
It is also the time when people with 4x4 think they are invincible and can still drive as fast as they do in the summer.
its to bad they cant stop as fast.

I lived in the Ft. Lauderdale area for about 10 years (84-94) and I have to agree the drivers are bad. But, Indianapolis is worse. Especially in the month of May or August. Seems everyone thinks they're Mario Andretti.
