New to this colony (and no I didn't get kicked out of the last one).

Sold my renken (peew) last year and now that I am back stateside, it's high time for another boat.

I have been eyeballing a Starcraft 2415 Starship Aurora (I kid you not, I have seen the original sales brochure).

NADA's got...just that...nada, zip. According to them Starcraft did not make such a boat in '98. But I have seen sales brochure and dealer invoice and original pprwork to know that they did (or this really well know dealer in Central Florida is in serious trouble).

So, what's it worth?

Specs: 1998 24' Starcraft Starship Series Aurora 330 HP mercruiser I/O, less than 300 hours, not stored in water.

1998.....it's gonna be all about condition condition condition at that point. I'm going to move this general boating as most of us down here in the SC section are more knowledgeable about old tin :D Pics would help.

I really don't have anything to contribute other than Live long and prosper. In all actuality Nada guides is pretty worthless when it comes to boats, its all about condition.

I think he showed the boat, but it has a cloaking device. Sure makes it hard to prevent sunburn out there on the water.

Yah maybe, but that cloaking device sure bumps up that NADA book value:D

That would be a sweet ride with that 5.7 in there. I am concerned about it having sat out for years in FL. Probably lots of sun-damaged components on it that will need replacing. I'm definitely not comforted by the seller claiming he's going to recover some seats. That usually looks awful. I think the bidding is going to go up into "not a great deal" territory.

Man, I read the title and thought it would be something unique. Looks like a typical, run-o-the-mill boat to me. 7k fer a 13yo glass boat? Not with my money...

I really like the layout of that vessel! That would be a great boat for a family!

As long as there is no rot and the engine checks out I think it is a good deal.

I actually have the baby brother, but it is called the Star Deck. It has been a good boat. There has been some spyder cracks in the corners of the floor where the fiberglass goes up into the walls. Mine is 20 or 22' (i cant remember) but the layout is great, mine is rated for 14 people, we did have massive wander at idle speeds, but it was cured smart tabs. I think that boat might be worth 10k if it is good shape. I did not read the whole listing, does it come with a trailer? A nice trailer for that size of boat, will cost a bunch.
Good luck, Dave

It's funny I found this thread by Googling the boat. I actually won that auction and I'm leaving Houston for Florida Thursday to pick it up. The seats are pretty torn up, but I can do upholstery so for me it is no big deal. I did have the seller get it running and send me a video, he installed a new starter, alternator and water pump, along with new spark plugs. I have wanted a deck boat for years but income will only allow so much for play money, I realy hope this one works out for me and the family! It looks like I got a good deal on it, the seller is crediting $500 back for seat condition and he has already cleaned up the rest of it, I can attach pics if you guys want to see it. Like the original poster stated, if anybody has more info I'd appreciate hearing it!

I decided I'd post the pics anyway.....

And this is the only interior shot I have. It's a manufacturer glossy, but it shows the layout. The seat bottoms are trashed so it's really not much to look at right now anyway.
