Nubie
I was wondering about your Zodiac. I just got a Classic Mk 2 with a Yamaha 25 hp 2 stroke. To catch fish that size, you must have been on some big water. Could you tell me about your Zodiac and what conditions you fish in?

DEF, I caught them about 5 miles offshore in the Cook Inlet, on the Kenai Penninsula in Alaska.

The Zod is 15.5ft and I have the same motor as you; does about 20-25mph, depending.

It's got a VHF radio. Where I fish is a popular spot and I go on nice days; life ends quickly if bad things happen on the water up here.

These boats will take on some pretty ugly water, but the fun factor drop precipitously, trust me, I've done it.

I recently picked up an old 22ft Glastron Vagabond.
With a bigger boat for ocean going, the tired old rubber duckie will become my dedicated lake/river boat. All I need now is a 70hp jet drive for it, hehe.

Here's a bad pic from a double exposed roll of a previous trip.
