congrats on the boat sean! Did you test drive, check that OD oil, and how did you come out on the warranty deal?

Re: It's a great day...

Hey JB, I'm sorry about this kind of post while you are in the middle of the exact opposite of a "great day". I understand things aren't that great down in your neck of the woods. If I could send some of our precipitation down to you I would do it in a heartbeat.

Vip: As far as the test, oil, etc... I ended up discussing the warranty with the dealer. I expressed my concerns on the lack of a test drive. I ended up getting a decent warranty - not perfect, but something that will CMA when I put it in the water this spring.

Pic's are DEFINITELY to follow.

Sean

be careful and don't rub all the gelcoat off as soon as you get-er-home! :D

I can see it now....EE out there with his wife's vacuum cleaner sucking out small crevices, her good cleaning rags polishing the seats, her brand new bottle of windex now almost empty from cleaning the windshield :D :D :D

this is a good day for you!

ps...check your hitch, make sure it's locked down, safety chains are hooked up and lights connected and working before you pull her out of the lot!

Re: It's a great day...

Last past by forum time by EE was 2:05, it's now 8:53. He's gone. Won't be back for days, because he can't pry himself away from the boat! He may show up soon, but you probably won't be able to read what he types,...his hands will be so slick from the armor all, windex, and wax...he won't be able to keep his hands on the keyboard!

I know, I've been there. By the the time we sea trialed, finished the paper work and got home, it was about 9:00. My wife had to go to her parents, and I was left watching the kids. So, I got the kids to bed, and figured out that the baby monitor will reach all the way to my barn. I couldn't help it,, I just had to get out there and start going thru the boat. Every time I thought I heard something thru that monitor, I would run to the house and up the stairs, just to see the kids sleeping away. Go back out to the boat and do it all again. After about 6 or 8 runs to the house I was done, tired, wore out, and exhausted. Waited till the next day to get out and check out the boat.

Re: It's a great day...

Alrighty!! We took delivery on Tuesday night without any issues!! I was as giddy as a kid in a candy store! Without further ado; on with the slide show!

First, the broad side of the boat… sorry for the night pictures, the flash didn’t do it much justice. Needless to say, this boat was a bit bigger than I thought! Well, I knew it was 20’ long, but when you put it in my garage, my garage seems to shrink.

Another angle shot.

1476491-2.jpg

Shot from the helm forward towards the bow. All of the cushions with an exception for the port and starboard front seats as well as the seat cushion that appears to be on the side the boat was entered and exited all the time --- people must have stepped on it a lot.

And another…

A shot from the bow back…

1476501-7.jpg

Obligatory self-portrait photo of Captain of “My Gumas” (F.K.A. “Altered States” – Name change pending, I need to do the switch the right way w/ a ceremony or else it will be bad luck). Soprano’s fans will get the “My Gumas” reference by remembering that Tony Soprano has a “Gumas” or “Mistress” in the show. So, the name of my boat in English means “My Mistress.” I think it’s appropriate since this will be the only “other woman” in my life.

1476502-8.jpg

Last but definitely not least… the obligatory “Mans best friend next to man’s best toy” photo. Notice the exhausted look on Normans face… He had a full day of Doggy Daycare and was devoid of energy… but HAD to be out by me as I looked over my boat. Atta boy!!!
