Bought my first boat over the winter without a test drive or even hearing it run. Took it to the mechanic yesterday and for a quick test run - it was perfect! A '79 Cobalt can really cut through white caps on a lake. I guess my marriage is safe until I do the next risky thing

Congratulations! Take care of the maintenance stuff and that boat will probly last you a long time. It was kinda stormy in Kansas yesterday, your mechanic is either pretty brave or a little wacky!

A little of both. He had not been out this spring yet either, so it did not take much arm twisting to go. One of the tornadoes was about 20 mile from here. We went right after the cool front went through and the winds were switching. Good timing.
