So I go fishin' this morning. I am fishing the large cemet pilons of a rail bridge that crosses the river portion of the lake. The rail bridge is about a mile long. I am working each pilon of course. I get a hard strike, get it near the boat, and it spits the hook. I then spend the next 40-45 minutes casting my brains out. I am getting hits, but when I go to set the hook, I got nothing. It was baffling. I get near the other end of the bridge, and decide to hang it up as it was getting really windy and I needed to hook up with my sister to pick up a new mattress set for her. I go to hook the spinnerbait onto the little loop on the rod, and there is no hook. I had spent all that time casting a hookless fish body with a spinny shiny thing. I had to laugh....it was no wonder I couldn't set the hook....
