I want to re prop my 1989 221V Islander. It has a 4.3L V6 with a ALpha 1 drive and I currently have a 3 blade 14" RH 19p prop on it. I would like to go 4 blade. Has anyone else here gone 4 blade on this type of boat and what did you put on it as far as size and pitch.

THanks

Welcome Goat, we need to see some pictures of this beauty, on your prop question your probably best of to post all the info in the prop forum, WOT rpm, gps speed, prop size etc in the prop section. Those guys over there really know there stuff.

Well sort of, I looked into the 4 blades but found out that I didn't have any "problems" the 4 blade was designed to fix. What issue are you trying to overcome with the 4 blade prop? The prop section has scores of guys asking the same thing so it should be easy to find the answer.

Typically a 4 blade should improve hole shot, stay on plane better at reduced throttle,Seem smoother and may respond better around the dock.
It usually will cost a little top end.
Your lightly loaded wot rpm and gps speed will help tell if your setup is working.
