My wife is 100% supportive of me and my activities and I do the same for her.

I just tell her how much money we're saving by me doing all the work. You know... It's a sacrifice, but I'm willing to do it for the family :)

I don't know if it's jealousy but the act of me working on it is my only real form of relaxation and it is something I greatly enjoy so being that as it is since it relaxes me it's problem or is it that it's something I enjoy?? Haven't figured it out yet

Just keep referring to it as "her" boat. Works for me. ;)

My wife and myself are a team. If the boat needs waxed... we wax it. I wouldn't have it any other way either. :)

This.

I'm always obsessed with at least one thing if not more. She's used to it. She has her own things she's interested. We spend plenty of time together too.

We have an agreement: She doesn't mind what I do with the boat as long as she doesn't have to do it, too ... ;)

My wife has never been jealous of anything I have done, or wanted to do, in all our time together, and i am the same with her.

I have never been able to work that one out, so decided, WTH.

Cheers
Phillip

(Keep in mind we have worked together in business for 20yrs, so I can understand her wanting to see a little more of the back end of me).

Well thats just plain silly.

I love when MrLadyFish works on the boat. I sure as heck don't want to be stranded out there on the water. He's always been good about making sure everything works they way it should and takes care of things before we go out. or we don't go. "It's a good thing" as Martha Stewart says.

Re: Is your wife jealous of your time spent working on your boat

My wife and kids want me around them every waking moment, which I guess is a good thing, but my wife does get jealous of my time spent in the garage or fixing things. Every so often I have to remind her that I do all of our boat, car, and house repairs/maintenance so that we can have the money to afford the family toy, aka the boat.

I do enjoy "pittling around" with things in the garage, so it is an escape for me, I don't mind working on the cars or boat, but I despise doing home repairs, which is probably why that list is never totally caught up.

My wife tolerates my interest (obsession) with the boat(s). Her issue is with the amount of money I spend on parts, supplies, etc. Its not that I spend a lot, but as we all know, boats cost money to maintain and repair. Maybe she'll have a change of heart once we get a full season of use out of the boat.
