This is my very first post...so go easy on me. I have an '82 Bonito 16' trihull with an '80 Johnson 50hp on it. The boat came with no trim tabs, or power trim...however, when I hit about 15 mph, the boat planes off just fine, and rides nicely. I just keep the motor locked in as far down as it can go at all times. I heard that using hydrofoils makes planing even faster. Any reason why I should still purchase power trim, or should I just be content with how it handles already?
