I'm replacing the seals (o rings) in the cap. Not sure if the pitting shown mattersDid you replace the seal In the cap?
I’d try and get the surface where the last last washer sits a bit cleaner. Emory paper? and be sure the channel where the final c clip that holds the washer in place is clean. Since the seals are inside the cap you should be good to go. Good luckI'm replacing the seals (o rings) in the cap. Not sure if the pitting shown matters
I rebuilt 4 of mine. Similar corrosion as yours. I had to replace one cap at about 50 bucks. Only because I had to heat and beat it out of ram tube. I made my own spanner wrench after seeing what MC wanted for a new one. . If my memory is correct, the scrapper and seals were inside of cap and that part of the aluminum was not bad. I put them all back on OD and so far, no leaks.Alpha1 Gen2
Can I still use this trim cylinder end cap? I scraped out as much salt as I could with a pic and wire brush. It's not smooth where the scraper will sit.
